According to Daily Mail, security experts managed to detect a new malicious program spread through Facebook. The Trojan steals bank details and money from accounts.
Specialists state that malicious program is installed on the device after the user follows a malicious link. After that Trojan runs in the background mode. So far, security experts claim that all links were removed.
After being installed, the virus begins to track user activity and intercepts any data entered into systems of online banking, online stores, etc. Collected data is transferred to cybercriminals, giving them the right to illegally withdraw funds money from the accounts of their victims.
Facebook representative claimed that security experts constantly look for malware on the website and offer a variety of security systems, such as scanning and fixing programs installed on mobile devices.
This is not the first case of Facebook containing malware. Among viruses that attacked social network, IT-specialists dealt with ZeuS Trojan. Back then, the main goal of the virus was to steal data on users’ accounts.
